As for the challenge, I skipped day 18. I will get back to it. I really want to practice water marbling more. I haven't gotten the hang of getting the patterns where I want them. I did come to the conclusion that I should try using a smaller container to dip my fingers in next time. I have been using yogurt cups. Next time I think I'll use a medicine measuring cup and do one finger at a time. Also I think I should paint a base color on first. Not all of the colors I used came out as opaque as I thought they would.
I used 3 Zoya polishes for this water marble manicure:
Zoya Dakota (cream finish blood red)
Zoya Blair (metallic blood red)
Zoya Avery (cream finish nude)

This is gorgeous, I love the colors! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think these reds will be great for Fall and Winter.
Deletecan't go wrong with zoya! i think it looks great! :) i have heard that a base coat helps, and i too think my container was too big.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And my Zoya wish list is SO long. I can't get enough. : )
DeleteA tip about the base coat I learned the hard way.....it alters your colors. So if you do a white base coat and use red for the water marble, it usually comes out pink. I had a vision once and it was ruined for that reason. I try to use a base now that is similar to the colors and it seems to work better. I think this came out great.
ReplyDeleteOoh. Thanks for the tip!
Deleteits pretty,,,
ReplyDeleteVery very pretty manis! I wish I knew how to do the curved watermarks too but I have no idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks! : ) I'm sure photoshop or illustrator would do it, but I was hoping for a cheaper option.
DeleteThese came out great!
